Below is a list of all the chapters in the Bible, sorted by book and then by chapter (using hidden “sort” columns, as in the books page). As with the books database, you could take notes on these chapters within the page itself, or link it up with other databases in your workspace.

adding pericopes?

Go ahead! This is your database. For the best continued function and coherence of this tool, here is how I recommend you go about adding pericopes:

  1. Click in the “pericopes” field next to the chapter that contains the verses you want to add.
  2. Type the reference for the pericope you want (e.g. Gen 1:1-10), and click “New Gen 1:1-10 in Pericopes” at the bottom of the search field.
  3. Open the page. It is already related to the chapter you selected, but if your pericope spans more than one chapter, add the others in the “# chapters of the Bible” field.
  4. Open up that “# chapter” page. Are there other pericopes in that same chapter? Do they overlap with yours? If so, return to the pericope page and add any overlapping pericopes in the “overlapping pericopes“ field.
  5. Optional/cosmetic: click the “🙂 Add icon” field that appears when you hover over the page name. Click the randomized emoji that appears to customize it. Select the emoji that matches the others appearing on chapters and pericopes from that book of the Bible.
